I got a text from a good friend at 6:47 AM today. The message included a link to this article (SPOILER ALERT) and the comment, “I definitely live under a rock…”

At 6:52 AM, I responded, “I’ll have to include some of these in crosswords!”

My seeds were 11-Down and 21-Down.

    Fun! The seed entries sound like ’50s slang to me. What’s old is new again (myself excepted). Regarding 26D, here’s a joke I heard when I was in Cuba in 2023: Why was Fidel a lousy bartender? Because he couldn’t even make a Cuba libre!

      They do have that vibe, don’t they? And with a hint of ’23 skidoo’ from a bit earlier sprinkled in. The Castro joke could be turned into a punny clue for ‘Cuba libre’…
