My seed for this midi was 10-Across, which was referenced in a New York Times blurb as follows: “Sometimes you need a song to remind you that not everything has to be serious all the time.”
Comments, as always, are welcome.

What a wide-ranging, fun puzzle! Lots of scrabbly letters, but nothing forced. I don’t know the song in 10A but I’ll check it out. I’m a big 12A fan – nice to see her name in lights, so to speak.
Thanks, Jeff! 10A was new to me as well when I saw it mentioned in the Times; as soon as I saw it, I thought “That’s a crossword entry waiting to happen!” And happy to include 12A, a longtime favorite of mine…does comedy and drama equally well.
Always good fun, though I’ve yet to solve all the movie etc. references without assistance.
Thanks for stopping by Greg! Assistance is always allowed!
Finally able to play on a computer instead of my phone – loved the “unsafe” but forgot to look at the photo. I feel like I should know what the answer to 10 across is but didn’t – heading to duckduckgo to search for it.
Thanks, Jeanne!
