While working on a new two-tone spiral puzzle (using one of the wonderful tools at Crossword Nexus), 9A came up as a possible choice for an entry. As soon as I saw it, 15A popped into my mind and I realized I had an ‘apt pair’, a la Puzzmo. [In case that link is accessible only to Puzzmo subscribers, here’s how editor Brooke Husic refers to ‘apt pairs’]:
“To me, an amazing apt pair is a delightful connection between two phrases that makes you wonder how you never saw (or heard) it yourself — and a perfect title that captures the connection.”
I was pleased when I was able to work in three theme-adjacent answers.
I hope you enjoy it!
