For Rows Garden #9, I’m offering an array of solving options.

  1. For a ‘regular’ solve (blooms clued in the order of their appearance in the puzzle), you can work in the Amuse Labs/Puzzle Me interface below, or, if you prefer to solve in print, you can print out a pdf version.
  2. For a ‘thorny’ solve, (blooms clued out of order), you can print out a pdf version, or you can download an .rg file here. Then head over to the Multiflora app and, in the shaded area marked Play, click on Open File and upload the .rg file.

If you give the Multiflora interface a try, let me know what you think.

    I printed out the thorny version – what a great way to spend some time on a lazy (e.g., grandkid-free) afternoon! Highlights for me: the clues on B2, F1, and K1, and the deli (light) and executive suite (dark) bloom clues. I got mixed up at first on G1 because I thought you were looking for the name of the establishment, but the clue is certainly fair. Finally, an interesting and, as you say, ironic, factoid about the British baron (dark).

    Thank you, Jeff! Isn’t that a fun factoid? Not only is the sleeve named for him, but he’s also said to have designed it himself. And if you believe the citations on Wikipedia, after it was amputated, he “demanded his arm back so he could retrieve [a] ring that his wife had given him.” (!!)

    I am *still* working on the Thorny version of Rows Garden #8 (stuck at about 83% done… for weeks) so this time I opted for the regular version. Such a different experience! More breezy, less mind-expanding… maybe more like downhill skiing compared to cross-country? But fun as always! (I think J1 was my favorite factoid and F1 my favorite wordplay.)
